Lizzie Borden Facts and Biography

Lizzie Borden

Lizzie Borden Biography Summary: Lizzie Borden (1860 - 1927) was famous for her trail and acquittal having been accused of gruesome murder of her father and stepmother. Lizzie Borden was put on trial for the murder of her father and stepmother and would be found not guilty. However, during the investigation several critical tasks were overlooked and could have proven the case conclusively one way or the other. Lizzie’s clothing was never checked for blood or evidence and a day or so after the murders she was seen burning a dress she claimed was ruined by paint stains.

The murder weapon was also never properly identified and there were several hatchets around the property including one that had what was reported to have been a newly broke handle. There was even speculation that Emma could have returned to the family home, committed the murders and returned to Fairhaven thereby establishing her alibi. The case remains unsolved.
